To the main entrance, parking lot and visitor center to Wilder State Park:
From the city of Santa Cruz, take Highway One north towards San Francisco. At the 3-way light at Highway One and Grandview and Swift streets, go about one mile north and you will find the signs for Wilder Ranch State Park.
You will be making a left turn off the highway…there is a convenient middle turn lane for your safety.
If you are riding your bike from Santa Cruz on the highway one bike/hike path, the path will dead end at the tunnel. Simply go thru the tunnel and you are at the backcountry trailhead!
**For those pulling horse trailers in to ride Wilder, see my page on “Horse Camping Wilder” for the directions to the horse camping area which is not at the main entrance, but not too far away. There is plenty of parking space there for horse day users as well as horse campers.
